Long Island Inmate Busted With Cocaine In Jail, Sheriff Says

A 28-year-old inmate on Long Island is facing new charges after being busted with cocaine will behind bars in a Suffolk County jail.

Lindenhurst resident Andrew Matos, who is an inmate at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead was busted with contraband at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office said that Matos was busted with alleged cocaine, which was hidden on him.

Matos was arrested and charged with two counts of promoting prison contraband, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. No return court date has been announced.
